How to Book Mobile Physiotherapy in Sydney 2026

Mobile Physiotherapy · How to Book

Booking a home visit takes one phone call — but having four details ready turns it into a two-minute conversation instead of three calls back and forth. Here is exactly what we need and what happens next.

Four things to have ready

Your address and access

Postcode decides availability. Stairs, lifts, parking and gate codes decide how long the visit takes to set up.

How it is being paid for

NDIS, WorkCover, CTP, DVA or private — each needs a different detail, listed below.

What the problem is

Where it hurts, how long it has been there, and what it is stopping you doing.

Who will be there

A family member, carer or support worker is welcome and often useful.

What each funding type needs

FundingWhat to have on hand
NDISNDIS number, plan management type, and your plan manager’s billing email if plan-managed
WorkCoverClaim number, insurer and your employer’s details
CTPClaim or reference number and the insurer’s name
DVACard type and a referral from your GP
PrivateNothing — no referral required

The booking process

1
Call or book online. Phone works best for a first home visit because we can confirm your area on the spot.
2
We confirm coverage and cost. Your postcode, what is funded, and anything payable — agreed before the visit, not after.
3
Time is arranged. You get an arrival window rather than a single fixed minute, since travel between visits varies.
4
First visit. Around an hour: assessment, treatment, and a program you can start that day.

What happens at the visit

We take a history, assess movement, strength and balance, and look at how you manage the tasks that matter to you. Then hands-on treatment where it is appropriate, and a short program built around the space and equipment you already have. You should finish knowing what the problem is, what the plan is, and what to do before the next visit.

No equipment purchase is needed to begin. We bring what the session requires.

Practical questions people ask

You need enough clear floor space to move and lie down — a lounge room is usually fine. Wear something you can move in. If walking or stairs are part of your goals, have your usual shoes nearby. Pets are not a problem, though somewhere settled for them makes the session easier for everyone.

A clinic appointment may serve you better if your rehab needs gym equipment, a treadmill for gait work, or shockwave therapy. Say what you are working towards when you call and we will tell you honestly which setting suits.

Changing or cancelling

Let us know as early as you can. Home visits are scheduled in travel runs, so a late cancellation usually means the slot cannot be refilled. Cancellation terms depend on how your treatment is funded — for NDIS participants they follow the NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits and should be set out in your service agreement.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a mobile physiotherapy appointment?

Call 0411 057 420 or book online. For a first home visit phone is quicker, because we can confirm your area and funding in the same conversation.

Do I need a referral?

Not for a private appointment. A referral is required for DVA, and Medicare chronic condition management referrals are usually written for clinic-based care, so check with your GP first.

Will I get an exact appointment time?

You get an arrival window rather than a fixed minute, because travel between home visits varies. We call if we are running outside the window.

How much space do I need?

Enough clear floor to move and lie down comfortably — most lounge rooms are fine. Nothing needs to be rearranged in advance.

Can someone else be present?

Yes. A family member, carer or support worker is welcome, and it helps when someone else will be supervising your exercises or assisting with transfers.

What if I need to cancel?

Tell us as early as possible, since home visits are scheduled in travel runs. Cancellation terms depend on your funding type, and for NDIS participants they follow the pricing arrangements and your service agreement.
