Mobile Physiotherapy Services in Western Sydney

Mobile Physiotherapy · Western Sydney

Not everyone who needs physiotherapy can get to a clinic. Hopevana runs mobile physiotherapy from its Pendle Hill and Homebush bases across Western Sydney and the wider Sydney metropolitan area — the same assessment and treatment, delivered in your home.

Who uses a mobile service

After surgery or hospital

The first weeks home are when rehab matters most and travel is hardest. Treating at home keeps the program going without the car trip.

Older adults

Balance, falls risk and strength work assessed in the actual rooms, steps and surfaces you negotiate every day.

NDIS participants

Home-based therapy built around plan goals, available on agency, plan and self-managed plans.

Carers and families

Where a carer needs to learn transfers or an exercise program, doing it in the home means they learn it in context.

What a home visit includes

A full assessment — history, strength, range, balance and function — followed by hands-on treatment and a program you can do with what you have. We bring what the session needs, so nothing has to be bought before we start.

The advantage over a clinic is the environment itself. Step height at your front door, the grab rail position in your bathroom, the chair you actually get out of twenty times a day. Those are the things that decide whether rehab transfers into real life, and they cannot be assessed properly in a treatment room.

Areas we cover

Our bases are Pendle Hill and Homebush, so Western Sydney is where we travel most: Parramatta, Blacktown, Westmead, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Wentworthville, Merrylands, Auburn, Lidcombe and the surrounding suburbs. Home visits also extend across the wider Sydney metropolitan area — call with your postcode and we will confirm availability rather than guess.

How it is funded

Medicare chronic condition management referrals are generally written for clinic-based care, so check with your GP whether home visits are covered under your referral before assuming they are.

What to have ready

1
A clear space. Enough room to move and lie down — a lounge room floor is usually plenty.
2
Your paperwork. Referral, plan number, claim number or scan reports if you have them.
3
Comfortable clothing. Something you can move in, and shoes if walking is part of your goals.
4
Someone present, if helpful. A family member or support worker is welcome, particularly for transfer training.

When a clinic is the better option

Home visits are not automatically better. If your rehab needs equipment — resistance machines, a treadmill for gait retraining, shockwave therapy — a clinic session will do more for you. We will say so rather than book a home visit that achieves less. Many people use both: clinic sessions for the loading work, home visits when travel is not realistic.

Not sure which suits you? Call and describe the situation. If a clinic appointment would serve you better, we will tell you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which suburbs do you visit?

Western Sydney most often — Parramatta, Blacktown, Westmead, Seven Hills, Toongabbie, Wentworthville, Merrylands, Auburn and Lidcombe among them — and the wider Sydney metropolitan area. Call with your postcode and we will confirm.

Is a home visit more expensive than a clinic appointment?

Under NDIS, WorkCover, CTP and DVA there is no gap to you. For private appointments a travel component may apply depending on distance, and we confirm that before booking.

Do I need equipment at home?

No. We bring what the session requires and build your program around what you already have.

Can I use my Medicare referral for a home visit?

Medicare chronic condition management referrals are usually written for clinic-based treatment. Check with your GP before booking, as the referral may need to specify home-based care.

How long is a home visit?

Around an hour for a first assessment, with follow-up sessions typically shorter depending on what your program involves.

Can a family member or support worker be there?

Yes, and it often helps — particularly where someone else assists with transfers or will be supervising the exercise program.
